Easy and highly customizable breakfast cereals you can adapt to your taste, to your dietary requirements. Add a pinch of this or that. Swap nuts for seeds. Change fruits for what you can easily find.

  • 1 cup rolled barley
  • 1 cup rolled triticale
  • 1 cup rolled spelt
  • 1 cup coconut chips
  • ½ cup pumpkin seeds
  • ½ cup hazelnuts
  • ½ slithered almonds
  • ½ cup sunflower kernels
  • ½ cup almond kernels
  • ½ cup raisins or sultanas
  • ½ cup Linseed
  • 3 dried mango slices
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp honey
  1. First of all, this list of ingredients is exactly what I put in my photographed batch in the blog post but I actually just grab what I have in my cupboards keeping in mind to put about 3 cups of rolled something (oats, barley, spelt, etc.), nuts, seeds and dried/candied fruits.
  2. Tip all ingredients in a large crock pot and heat on medium until fragrant and softer (about 10 mins).
  3. Leave it to cool and store in a glass container (or plastic). I am not sure how long you can keep it because in my family, it disappears very quickly ;)
  4. Or if you have a Thermomix (or any other) put in a large bowl, mix and heat by batch.
