Sorrel tartine with mustard oil, my punch in the nose lunch

A simple tartine with fun ingredients. You can swap mustard oil for wasabi, sourdough bread for any bread, pepper cheddar for any cheese and sorrel for lettuce.

Ingredients
  • 1 thick slice of good homebaked sourdough bread
  • a bit of butter to spread lightly
  • 5 leaves of sorrel and/or a few crunchy leaves of lettuce
  • 1 slice of good ham
  • a few drops of mustard oil
  • a bit of pepper cheddar
  • garden herbs such as parsley and lemon thyme
Instructions
  1. Butter lightly the slice of bread.
  2. Coarsely chop sorrel and lettuce. Place on bread.
  3. Cover with ham.
  4. Pour 4 drops of oil in a spoon and using your finger or a kitchen brush spread oil on the ham.
  5. Place a few pieces of pepper cheddar.
  6. Sprinkle with herbs and enjoy!
