How can I put this… Well… This is my beautiful “two days in the making” bread which I put in the oven before leaving the house, with the oven timer on.
This is how I realised that my oven’s timer doesn’t work.
When I got back 3 hours later, I could smell smoke half way through the outdoor staircase… The oven was still on 230°C… and the bread was a charcoal ball.
Note to self: always test an oven timer before using it for a real reason…
Positive thinking: (I like to finish with those): this charcoal bread, if not edible, looked so pretty!
