Australian Interior decorator Lisa Burdus went on a retreat in the south of France last year with L.A. based British designer Kathryn M. Ireland. She enjoyed it so much that she offered to host one in her Southern Highlands property.
Lisa asked me to film these few days of sharing, beauty chasing and sitting by the fire.
So I created the mini-movie above and a few little snippets to show different aspect of this event, including the work of journalist, photographer and flower diva Annabelle Hickson (below). It was such a pleasure to work alongside Annabelle, to get to know her better and be around such a friendly, witty and funny woman.
We were very lucky to visit journalist and social media wizard Melissa Penfold. I thought I’d film the lunch and afternoon we spent in her beautiful house.
During the retreat, I also interviewed Interior decorator and stylist Anna Spiro (below). Based in Brisbane, Anna is the queen of patterns and the mastermind behind the dead gorgeous Halcyon House‘s make-over.
She is a very elegant and generous woman. I was thrilled to meet her. This is what she had to say about this retreat:
And another little one with more beautiful moments:
And of course, I couldn’t end this without a little tour behind the scenes with my dear friends: über-talented cook Gillian Bell who is also the most poetic wedding cake maker ever; Helen Vlahakis of the successful blog Mumma’s country kitchen who created very fresh and delicious dishes I can’t wait to make at home; and of course behind the (still) lens the one and only Annabelle Hickson.
I hope you enjoyed this little tour!
This was a very interesting experience for me, follow a quite large group and try to capture the essence of the moment, the atmosphere. It made me want to do this more. I’m currently working on a really special video project.
Bear with me!
