I spent today making bread, working with my PC on my lap, on my sofa, and when these daily tasks were finished I started editing my videos. Because I can’t stop myself, I had a good tour of Instagram too and realised that I’ve been wanting to listen to “My Open Kitchen” for a long time. It’s the podcast everyone’s talking about, a real gem, freshly launched by dear Sophie Hansen and hosted by herself along with journalist Skye Manson.
Well… I actually binge listened to all the episodes! That’s how much I loved it. So I want to share this with you and encourage you to listen to it.
I met Sophie when I attended my first ever food photography workshop at Kimbri, her parent’s farm near Lithgow just behind the Blue Mountains when you come from Sydney.
She had organised a wonderful retreat with photographers Luisa Brimble and Aran Goyoaga and stylist, photographer and writer extraordinaire Annabelle Hickson.

Sophie has a knack to make things happen, make people meet each other, choose the right crowd and find the best sources to soak up knowledge and inspiration.
I absolutely adored her workshop, her charming and super efficient presence and her parents’ delightful, typically Australian family home.
She bakes like a goddess, takes fabulous photos, hosts workshops and epic communal meals, writes cookbooks and a lovely blog, campaigns for country women and manages all this with her three kids in what seems to me, as a Parisian girl, like a super remote location. No wonder she was named the New South Wales woman of the year!
As you’ve now understood it, Sophie Hansen is a bit of a role model for me, as she is for many women in Australia and all over the world. So I was super excited to hear that she was launching her podcast. But with my long French trip and my current workload, I simply couldn’t find the time.
Now “My Open Kitchen podcast” is bookmarked and will become part of my routine. These two girls’ beautiful voices, their clever choice of music, their rich selection of subjects and interviewees make it a really great moment. You can drink your herbal tea, edit your photos and plunge into the world of food, photography, styling, farming and social media with delight.
