Gigi has a solid reputation in the world of pizzas in Sydney. We had to try it out.
First of all it has a very lively atmosphere with pretty loud music. It has an amazing tiled pizza oven and a huge staff buzzing around it.
The menu is very very tempting…
We are guessing Gigi stands for the gorgeous and mythical Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida. She looks so pretty on the menus.
We didn’t know what to chose, every single pizza sounded awesome. I have usually the reverse feeling in pizzerias, I cannot make a choice because there is always something missing or over the top. Well, it’s not like this at all at Gigi’s.
We started with a burrata which was decorated by prosciutto and fresh basil, served with oven roasted bread slices. It was divine.
Our kids love margharita so here we go. It was very simple, with very fine ingredients and delicious. I guess above all, it was very authentic.
I had a craving for mushrooms so we chose the Tre funghi e stracchino. It was to die for. Disappeared in no time.
Then we opted for Carciofi pizza which had buffalo mozzarella, artichoke and prosciutto. It was very nice too.
I liked the dough which was well cooked, fine and puffy on the side.
It is the perfect place to hang out in winter. The heat coming from the woodfire oven is spectacular.
It was a wonderful dinner and we will be back very soon :)
If you have tried out this lovely Gigi pizzaria, let me know what you thought!
Here is Wendell having a good time :)
